CHALLENGES
One of the key challenges in this project was maintaining a warm and inviting tone without veering too far into a playful aesthetic. Given the nature of the brief, there was a risk of leaning toward a more casual style, whereas the brand required a refined yet welcoming feel that aligned with its voice. Additionally, ensuring the color palette reflected earthy tones was crucial for reinforcing the brand’s connection to sustainability and authenticity.
Another challenge was the initial lack of measurable engagement, such as sales or social media traction, which could have provided valuable motivation from a designer’s perspective. Early momentum in these areas would not only have validated the design direction but also helped establish the brand more effectively in its competitive landscape.



REQUIREMENTS
The brand identity for Willow & Hearth needs to be versatile, memorable, and deeply connected to its values of warmth, creativity, and sustainability.
Whether appearing on signage, packaging, or digital platforms, the typography should enhance readability while maintaining a sense of character that resonates with the diverse community of coffee lovers.

Willow & Hearth is more than a coffee shop—it's a community-driven artisan coffee house and roastery, nestled in the heart of Seattle. Rooted in warmth, creativity, and sustainability, we craft expertly brewed coffee sourced from our family-owned farm, ensuring every sip is ethical and unforgettable.
Our vision goes beyond the cup, fostering connection through local art, events, and workshops. To bring this vision to life, I developed a fresh brand identity, designing the logo, posters, social media creatives, and branding mockups—all crafted to convey the essence of Willow & Hearth across packaging, signage, and digital platforms.
At Willow & Hearth, coffee isn’t just a drink—it’s an experience, a story, and a shared moment.




CONCLUSION
The Willow & Hearth branding project was an immersive journey into crafting a warm, inviting, and community-driven identity that reflects the café’s values. From designing the logo, posters, social media creatives, and branding mockups, every element was carefully curated to convey a sense of comfort, creativity, and sustainability while ensuring versatility across various mediums.
One of the key challenges was striking the right balance between a cozy, professional aesthetic and an earthy, organic color palette, maintaining harmony with the café’s mission.
